The exterior painting is done except for some trim and touch-up work. We are beginning to ready the patio for the brick pavers. Interior painting and tile work will start next week (I hope). Jesus, our first cabinet maker, installed the kitchen cabinets in Martha's apartment. The other wood worker promised the kitchen for Coco's house last week; I'll be calling on him Monday to see where he is with the work. I knew the cabinet and door work would be expensive and would take some time, but I never dreamed that it would become the biggest headache of the entire project. It has taken 3 months to get the closets (6) for two houses and the kitchen for one with an any-day-now promise of another. All together a good bit less than half the total wood work to be done. At this rate we'll be lucky to be done by the Fourth of July. We are actively searching for two more cabinet makers. The problem is that everybody is busy. Cabinet making is definitely a career opportunity in this area! I had planned to have wooden baseboards and chair rails in the family room. I’m still hoping for the baseboards (I can make them myself). I have given up on wooden chair rails; I found some nice tile trim pieces to make the rails. We need the chair rails to separate the darker paint of the wainscot from lighter color of the upper walls. This week's picture story is at www.Rollybrook.com/02-22.htm Rolly
