MOVING TO SALTILLO OR MONTERREY MEXICO

Will you be looking for a job or starting a business? If so, Monterrey probably has the best business climate in Mexico.
However, the weather is lousy in Monterrey. It is way too hot in the summertime and sometimes the cold fronts that blow in from Texas can drop the temperatures rapidly in the wintertime even to below freezing. There is very little heat in Mexico.
In my opinion, Saltillo is a much more pleasant place to live, with a much more pleasant climate.
As far as the cost of living is concerned, for basic necesities, such as food and rent, it is much lower than in the States (that is, if you live simply). However, for telephone services, the internet, appliances, electronic equipment, etc., it is higher than in the States.
Why not take a trip to Monterrey and Saltillo to find out for yourself? I lived in Monterrey for eight years and always traveled by bus. (It is also more expensive to travel by car in Mexico than in the States.) There are also frequent buses to Saltillo from Monterrey. Also, the buses run frequently from McAllen, Texas to Monterrey.
I'm sorry that I can't give you more specific prices for rent, since I did not rent a place for the last seven years that I lived in Monterrey. Perhaps David (MTY) might have more specific information on that.
: HELLO, I'M JOHN AND I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE TO MONTERREY OR SAN NICOLAS OR SALTILLO MEXICO BUT I'M NOT SURE WHER TO LIVE THERE DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE AREAS AND WHAT THE LVING COST DOWN THERE. I'M SINGLE SO I HAVE NOBODY WITH ME SO THAT MAKES IT HARDER FOR ME.
