Another Brick in the Wall?

Can't Post |
So, what seems to be up with the "Great Wall Of Dump?" Has someone taken on more than they can throw away? At one time we were assaulted with some grand idea, now it seems to be in the dump! Are we ever going to see this come to reality, or will the foundation that's there just become part of the garbage? Maybe if they wait long enough, the site will just be moved and we won't need to worry about it.

The bulding of the wall has been cancelled from the federal authorities, becuase is illigal to buld so close to a highway, local authorities (and foundraisers I think) already new about the problem and they did nothing to solve it, just to look for more moeny and abuse people... too bad! In MY opinion the problem will not dissaper just with a big wall, but is just fine for hiden it!! They should put they money they raised in a new place that can be well adapted for that fonction for example a recycling center...

BTW those funsraising were supposed to sell space for publicity in the wall.. what were they supposed to do with the money from that publicity??? put it in their pocket? a taller wall???? I wonder.....

OHhhh is that the answer!! I'm to speed through a school zone? I'm just wondering what has happened to the project, after all I was "forced to give" at their make-shift toll booth on the by-pass to help with the funding of this.

Thanks to the earlier post I now understand why the project has stopped.

Pedro please? please stop trying to be a lakeside wanna-be! I just want a straight answer, not a smart ass remark to speed.

Oh my, what happened to this modern convergence of community spirit and common sense? Did the almighty Chapala Review fail in its biz plan for the project? Impossible, after all it was built with hindsight of several years of studying and assimilating to the Mexican experience. They knew all, and my criticisms were for not. After all I am just a Mexican who voices opinions and pisses vinegar. I am sure that the mighty Darrell and his other brother Darrell (wait that’s Newhart, could be copy-righted) will overcome the impediments at hand. Perhaps a bribe? Wait that is illegal, then perhaps a political movement? Wait they are are gringos, can't do that either. Well there it is, another brick in the wall, and not even as entertaining as the Pink Floyd album. But I guess the old LCR is reviewing its options, after all you can’t give away literary rags unless you either are selling fish or you need the publicity to proffer the writing and musings of the articulate scholars which comprise this highly touted literary piece of garbage destined for the dump residue, which it sought to conceal. Well good try boys, giving it the old college try. Certainly with all the aggregate education contained between border promotions and actual educational background of the staff and writers of the LCR an answer will be found. Certainly a class action would be in order for a refund on all the misspent funds, the bricks and other donated materials. But then again their hearts were in the right place, their wallets; after all they sought to hide what reflected poorly on the inflated real estate prices which make a decent home in the area impossibility for the indigenous of the area. My progress is a wonderful thing is it not? Well LCR please warn us of your future community spirit and instead of chasing specters perhaps just take your marvelous magazine to the local fish vendor and then your literary masterpiece will be put to its highest use, wrapping fish. Yours, the Oracle.

Oh yes, I am Mexican, and yes I can vouch for it. So can Donnie and Bill.

Most of this is just good hearted fun ...dont take yourself seriously LCR, no one else does!

Mr Bill,

I told you not to buy a brick from a Pr-ck. The idea of a band aid cure of a Wall to hide a trash pile would have to grow as the trash would be overflowing the top. This guy was trying to get popularity with the Gringo/Mexican community. Which it back fired and knew it would. He was better off trying to get the local gov. to recycle or something else to reduce the pile of garbage. I hope they can make a good thing out of a bad idea...

Maybe Pedro needs to come and visit Ajijic. He will know what in Hell he is talking about, I listen to canned heat too.....Harley Davidson, USA .

i did indeed "visit" ajicic" for a grand total of 3 hrs. of the 2 wks. we spent in the region.

dish, you chose to live amongst people you don't like for 35 yrs.-i ain't got that long for the rest of my life so i ain't gonna be a dummy like you and do the same-lol.

chapala and jocotapec are more to my liking where i can find a place to live wihout a bitter gringo on one side and a bitter mexican on the other.

now don't get me wrong there are a few old sots i will be associating with there-,the ones that will be riding with me up and down the carterra on our beer runs and terrorizing those guys trying to walk across wearing those goofy hats.

then there are the guys that play hockey with me up in guad-where for an hr. or so a couple of times a week we will whack the tar out of each other and then sit down for a beer or two and laugh with and at each other.

but again i will not even look at a grossly overpriced house in wailing and whining ajijic/gringo land.

and the dump ain't so bad as dumps go-a dump is a dump is a dump-i've seen worse in the excited states and canucklehead land.

canned heat?naw!-i'm bbbbad to the bone and i ride a beezer not a harley.

so ,dish take your blinders off and YOU will know what you're talkin' about-si?

Who make the beezer??? I am not so familar with the British bikes, A Rolex rider is a guy who buy a new Harley every year, at $20,000 US a bike, Get it, a presidental Rolex would cost you a cost around the same, That why they call them Rolex rider. Biker talk.

BORN TO WILD.............

You do not like ¨Canned Heat¨ What kind of biker are you??? William Smith would be rolling in his grave, Angels on Wheels. Easy rider.

Careyes, Honey, Careyes.

The problem it is very posh, posh and hush, hush. If they do not know you. FORGET IT!!! The suites starts around $2000 US A NIGHT!!! That is not peso, US DOLLARS!! I was there for about a 4 days/nights. The low end maybe around $495 US for one of the normal condos.... This is the jet set play ground, They bring in their Yachts from Europe, Asia, and around the world. No near by resturant, except the hotel. The nearest big size town is about 2 1/2 hours North of Manzanillo. The poor gringos like going to San Patrico or Bara Navidad, Which is Ok of the ones on a beer budget.

I would recomind Manzanillo, You do not get a lot of gringos there and the resort, Las Hadas has a promotion right now, 4 days/3 night, all food/drinks, services of the hotel, Bottle of Chilled bubbly in the room, and kides under 12 free for only $4,500 PESOS before April, and I was paying around $300 a night in the 1970's. I do not know what the gringo rate would be. I think if you try hard enough, You might get the Mexican rate......

Mexico has a two price system, Mexican and Gringo. Not so much in the stores, but if you know someone......Get the idea...

Sorry to interrupt, guys. I have been to Las Hadas before. It is beautiful, nice beach, outdoor restaurant and music. I really enjoyed it. Prices are pretty much like being in the US, but very nice.

Continue on about the beezers and rolex's.

With the promo that they have now...anyone can afford it. Even the less wealthy gringos can go. It was even better in the 70´s with all the movie stars around, like Ajijic......But now the common man from US/Canada has discovered it. It takes all the fun out of it, Carayes it that way now.... Maybe someday the common man will find it as well........heheheh.

Hi Guy,

I just read your message so I'm posting my "vouch". You're responsible for the consequences.

AND your astute analysis of the local political reality in regard to The Wall was dead-on correct as it turns out. We need to get together again so I can pick your brain some more. I'll e'mail once I get settled back in.

BTW, the hippie look left during chemo. Now I look more like a Marine. That ain't necessarily bad, just different.

Shameless self-promotion:
