This is a very interesting word, and the sort that defies direct translation. As pointed out here, Buey is an ox, steer, etc...the emphasis on castrated. (what in dogs they call "fixed" for some reason :-) But guey is another variation of the word that, for some reason is much less "printable". You can say buey or wey (another version) in front of somebody's mama, but NOT guey. Wey, is the closest to our understanding as "dude" or whatever, you hear it every other words when young knuckleheads talk. You see hats that say "Que Me Mires.." and a picture of a longhorn steer head. You will fill in buey, wey, or guey depending on your level of culture.
