Send an e-mail inquiry to Ricardo González Fonseca at monterrey@dbstv.com

A lot depends on where you are in Mexico. If you are in the north, you'll be able to get US TV. If you are in the south, it may not work. Ask Ricardo.

In most of Mexico you have the following sure options. The Mexican satellite services DirecTV and Sky carry some of these channels. The other way is to get a Canadian Satellite service, say Star Choice, which you can receive loud and clear throughout Mexico. The latter carries most of the US Channels including the networks and PBS. The good news about the Canadian services is that they are relatively inexpensive and do not require very large dishes. The US Satellite services do their level best to make reception difficult.

You can find the people who deal in the Canadian Satellite TV at www.global-cm.net They are all set up to get you the equipment and sign you up without your budging from Mexico.

Typically a 1.2m Dish is what you need, which you can buy in Mexico for about $US100. The dish you need depends on your location in Mexico.

In my other message I recommended Star Choice because it is stronger here in Merida. We have the other network, Express-Vu, which also works here, but its signal is not as strong. My Sister gave it to us as a gift. It works great, but I have a 1.8m Dish that we already had on the roof, the result of previous adventures.

I would like to add to the other very helpful comments. Here in Jalisco Bell Expressview doesn't even come in. The only English language small dish system that works this well this far south and half way to Panama is Star Choice. If you have a few hours, go to http://www.lyngsat.com/ and start searching for your favorite station. Remember there are thousands of TV and Radio stations being broadcast using various types of systems.

How many stations does Star Choice have, 300? C & Ku band analog have maybe 200. C & Ku band 4DTV digital maybe 300. If that is not enough there are other types of digital signals available. Check out http://global-cm.net/ go to his mpeg-2 section. You will see perhaps another 1000 or so stations listed, many of which are viewable from your area, where ever that may be.

With the right equipment, you can choose from more sources in more languages than you can imagine.

Please advise me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I use DISH Network Satellite. I pay $29 a month for 50 US Channels, plus the W/Coast Networks (ABC<CBS<NBC<FOX). www.dishnetwork.com will tell you which programs you can get. www.dbstv.com will tell you if you can receive it in "your" part of Mexico.

Obviously the price varies based on how much you buy of the offering. The best way to find out what it would cost you is to go to the following site

http://www.global-cm.net/...anadiansolution.html

Since you asked what it costs me for all the US and Canadian networks, a bundle of movie channels, PBS, more sports than are good for you and a gaggle of specialty channels, it is about $US40. The minimum service is about $US 10 per month.
