renting in Vallarta

a friend of mine and i are wanting to live in Vallarta for 6 months starting in June of 2003. we will have 2 cats and a large dog with us. obviously we are renting and found a good deal so it seems in La Cruz. it is a 3 bedroom house with private pool and yard over looking the ocean and we will have to pay bills. plus these renters are allowing pets which is great. these renters are from New York. any tips or advice on what we should be wary of or what we should make sure of? thanks for any comments.

My wife and I are renting a large 2 bedroom apartment with a garage close to the Sheraton in Puerto Vallarta for 3000 pesos per month, we pay cable and electricity, and have fans only. It's hot but being in the shade and indoors brings down the temperature a lot. As well it rains almost every day which helps. Neighbors are very nice, apartment locks down like Fort Knox if necessary, many dogs and cats loose on the street and the rooster crows at 2am and 5am consistently. At 8am the street is very alive with water trucks going by, and the pace of life. Call Luz Maria 223-2077 local in Purto Vallarta, she might be able to locate a place. We put it into the agreement the specifics of who was paying for what and got a clause that rent would not increase for 1 year.
Regards

Now guys, this is just my opinion...
I have lived in PV during the summer. It is hot as hell most of the day and evening. Humidity is a big problem too. It won't cool down until late October or November. June isn't too bad. July, August and September are rough. Most houses and business are not air conditioned. I spent a lot of time in Sam's Club that summer. It is nice and cool there. Afternoon naps and lots of fans are necessary. Get things done in the early morning or in the evening. Most stores are open late.
The house sounds great. Enjoy..

: a friend of mine and i are wanting to live in Vallarta for 6 months starting in June of 2003. we will have 2 cats and a large dog with us. obviously we are renting and found a good deal so it seems in La Cruz. it is a 3 bedroom house with private pool and yard over looking the ocean and we will have to pay bills. plus these renters are allowing pets which is great. these renters are from New York. any tips or advice on what we should be wary of or what we should make sure of? thanks for any comments.
