Who is a good health/travel insurance provider for long [6 month] stay?

Anyone recommend a good travel health insurance plan which will also offer compensation for personal effects, if stolen? For the past 3 years, I used Travelguard [sold through Council travel] - six month policy for $310. I always had claims and they always paid w/out question. But now Council travel is kaput and Travelguard is not an option. Also, in coming now to Mexico [vs. last 3 trips to New Zealand] having coverage for luggage as well as for medical, is of greater significance. Ideally, I'd like to find a company which will give me coverage beyond a $500. limit for any one item - so that my laptop would be better protected, yet still get a reasonable [under $400. for six months]- rate.
