Planning to be living in Mexico about 8 mths/year and doing the Canadian lake thing in summer. Anyone know if its easy or tough to Fedex/UPS a couple of boxes of clothes/personal stuff back and forth? If not, I'll probably have to go out and buy a big roadhog. Thx for any info.

You can ship things, but, unless you get an FM-3 (which would allow you a duty-free importation of personal effects), you may have to pay duty on the stuff (unless it is just books). Also, if there is more than just books/documents, it may take quite a while getting through customs. And, I believe, you can't put more than US$300 worth of stuff into a package - otherwise you have to be an officially registered importer to even be able to pay the duty (someone I know had a mistake of ordering things worth US$302 - had to pay to have them delivered back to the U.S., and went to pick them up there). To sum up: I'd only ship books.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I am wondering the same thing. Did you find out any information on this? Any help would be great! My email is kdenucci@hotmail.com. Thanks!
