House Project Update for 21 Dec 02

Stucco, Stucco, Stucco! We are about 60% done with the stucco work. Maybe 2 or 3 more weeks to finish it and start painting.

The plaster in the last apartment should be finished by the end of the month. Then we can begin the tile work.

Next week we will exceed our original funding grant of one million pesos. The California-based, lottery-wining uncle who is finding this project is pleased with what he has been watching on my website, so he has agreed to fund the project to completion. He has also agreed to fund a remodeling of his brother's house (the father of the four owners of the current project). So there is a sequel in the works -- stay tuned.

I thought I was retired when I moved to Mexico; I didn't know I was just making a career change. Smile

I know you are joking somewhat about retirement but even in retirement you need to stay active or you deteriorate! Particularly, you need to stay mentally active. Which, obviously, you are certainly doing! Keep up the good work, it will keep you healthier plus you have the enjoyment of helping others.

Stucco? You must be in northern Mexico!
Here in southern Mexico we use blocks
& cement. Then a paint job is in order!
Rolly, do you dress up as Santa for the
holidays?

Yes, I'm in northern Mexico where stucco helps to provide some insulation and covers the rough bricks. Concrete blocks are use here a little, but most construction uses locally make bricks.
