Driving into Guadalajara from Ajijic

Can't Post | Private Reply
Over a year ago, during construction of the periferico, the on-ramp to take the periferico west was blocked off. The last time I drove into Guadalajara and wanted to head west on the periferico, I had to keep driving straight ahead for four or five miles and turn around. Is there a better way now?

By saying 'periferico' are you referring to the 'new' MacroLibramiento that 'circles' the south side of Guadalajara and connects to the western side and eastern side of the city?

Thanks, Rick. I guess that's what they call it now. It also circles the north side of Guadalajara.

No, that is not the same one that circles the north side. The macrolibramiento is much farther south... one gets on it well south of the GDL airport.... closer to Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos just over the hill from Lake Chapala.
There is/has been a road called the Perifericos around Guadalajara. If that is the road that you were inquiring about I cannot help you with your question.
