Relocating to somewhere in the east coast.....

I thought the ocean at Veracruz was not very nice but Xalapa was interesting.
I posted this in the Southern Mexico section on March 30. There were a number of replies but I can't reply. It says "page can't be displayed" So I will try replying here.

Sorry about that 'glitch'....

The body of water at Veracruz is not an ocean but rather the Gulf of Mexico. It is strikingly different than the Caribbean. I would not call it 'not very nice' but, again, it is not the Caribbean. There are some areas north of Veracruz City where the mountains come right down to the Gulf, similar to maybe PV if you have been there. And the water can be really nice. One nice area is known as the 'Costa Esmeralda'. See links below.

Xalapa is a nice, historic city and the Capital of Veracruz state. It and its surrounds like Coatepec are nice to visit. It is 'at altitude' as opposed to Veracruz City.... probably close to 5,000' and 60 miles 'up' from the Gulf. It has a very wet 'wet season' in the summer and can be sort of miserable for a time, IMO. But if in the area, it is a must-see... again IMO.

Stick to the Caribbean, you will be happier.
