You might like to try making this salsa by roasting the tomato, onion, garlic, and chile on a comal (griddle) or in a skillet until they are dark brown on the outside (caramelized). Once the vegetables are caramelized and soft, either blend them in a molcajete (volcanic stone grinding bowl) or blender. The resulting salsa will be more flavorful than if you boil the vegetables. I think this is a good suggestion.
