Lake Chapala groups

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi. Thanks to the site builders and readers. I seek Lake Chapala groups to join, have fun, and make a difference. Would anyone know how to get in touch with ...
1) cyclists
2) tennis players
3) hikers
4) environmentalists
5) writers
6) board game players
7) actors or filmmakers
Can you relay the contact info for any such groups?
Thanks.
SMITH, Jeffery J., DocTours, jjs@geonomics.org

Why look at Lake Chapala when you have the same Gringo groups at home in California? Do you truly think they will be any different?

I suggest you contact the area's English newspaper: www.theguadalajarareporter.com and get an online subscription.
Most groups have weekly announcements and ways to contact them. It covers the area from Guadalajara through all the Lake Chapala towns and over to the coast.
It's usually about 25 pages, including the classified section, and the hard copy costs 20 pesos: the least newspaper for the most money, but it will give you the "hometown" touch. I don't know what the online subscription costs.

Most Mensans who move here are wise enough to keep it to themselves. If there is a club, it won't be announced in the paper.

As of two days ago, the Chapala.com web board is out of commission. We await its revival. Insidelakeside is still alive.

Right now the Chapala Forum website is down. According to one of the moderators they are working hard to get it up and running. When will it be fixed? Sunday morning the moderator I talked to said in maybe ten minutes or ten days.
In other words, he had no idea. What we do know is that the folks are working hard to get it up and running again.
