The US Feds just announced:

2016 IRS fees for non-participation increase to to $695 per adult and $347.50 per child, topping out at $2,085 per family ... or pay the larger of that figure or the IRS's income-based fee of ... 2.5% of your 2016 income.

**There are exceptions and exemptions from ACA/Obamacare, like:
~ the "3 month" ~ "short coverage gap" exemption,
~ the 35 day IRS's 35 day Physical Presence test,
~ the IRS's "bona fide" resident of a foreign country test, and
~ the exemption for having existing qualifying minimum coverage (as in Medicare or other valid health insurance programs).
