I listen to PBS and WQXR (a classical music station out of NYC) all the time on my computer.

That's encouraging for the PBS link.

I thought I had read that Pandora Music service was somehow blocked from Mexico......maybe that is a myth. Hope so.

Bad news, I'm afraid, about being able to listen to Pandora in Mexico: http://www.pandora.com/restricted

How about subscribing to a VPN service?

Exactly, Neil. I have to use a VPN service any time I need to appear as if I'm in Canada or the US. I'm usually but not always successful. I presume, but don't know, if it works with Pandora.

I just checked, and Pandora will work with a VPN. However, I switched from Pandora to Spotify a couple of years ago. Spotify is pretty much the same idea, and no VPN is reqired.

I say that the big villain in this is Hulu. Hulu deliberate blocks out VPN's, and it didn't even matter to them that I was a paid subscriber for a while.

If it still doesn't work with the VPN, try deleting the Pandora cookie.

Therefore I can stream Spotify thru the normal DSL system? Is that correct.

If so..........That would work for me. Thanks

Which VPN system do you use in MX? What is the monthly charge?

For a free trial, go to https://www.tunnelbear.com/ . And check it out for free. There are many other VPNs out there, and I do not know which one would be best for you. I also like "Ipvanish"

I use BoxPN. It costs $36 a year. There's a lot of VPN's out there with similar price and quality; HideMyAss, for example. BoxPN's selling point is that they have proxy servers in several countries, not just the US. I switched to them during the 2014 Olympics; CBC had the best coverage, but it was only supposed to be accessible within Canada. BoxPN have proxy servers in Canada, Britain, and 18 other countries.

Testing, my internet just went off and when it, Telmex infinitum went back on, some 10 minutes later, my connection speed decreased from 10Mbps down to 7.4 Mbps down.
And for that matter so did my IP number.

Sorry, let's get back to VPNs

You want to subscribe and pay for a VPN in order to listen to streaming audio when there are other streaming audios you can listen to without a VPN. There would have to be other uses for VPN before I subscribed to a VPN service. (I subscribe to StrongVPN)

Threw it out there as an idea and not a suggestion or recommendation?
