Moving pops back to states, questions about taking things

Well my Dad made it a year but wants the states again. To much of a change at 86.
What do I have to have to take his TV tools etc back to the US and we will be going through Laredo, what crossing should I use. Won't be hauling a trailer just a small courier. making a few trips.

thanks

We made two trips back to the US with all sorts of items from the house we sold near Lake Chapala. First time in a convertible with the top down and the second time in a fully loaded Ford Windstar. Both trips, I had a handwritten complete listing of what we had sitting on the dash. At the Santa Teresa, NM crossing, US Customs asked what we had and I said personal effects from a house we sold while holding out the lists which they weren't interested in. They immediately said that we were good to go and that was it.

YMMV at Laredo with a different Customs Agent? No guarantees!

We moved from Chapala to Tucson recently and had no problems with our fully loaded SUV and cartop carrier.
