The Bridge where the Immigration Offices were has been torn down in Tijuana. Where can I go to renew my FM3?

Where do I go in Tijuna? The document I had need to be renewed this month. I guess I have the old card that used to be called FM3. Do you know where the offices are for me to renew my residency card?

If you do have an FM3, it will be very expired. If it needs to be renewed this month, it is not an FM3 but a Residente Temporal card, which replaced the FM3s almost three years ago.

You probably have a Residente Temporal Visa, which needs to be renewed at the end of the first year. You may renew for 1-3 more years, then apply for Residente Permanente. You may have to go to the capital, Mexicali; where did you obtain your visa? You should go to the same location.

A Google search found this location in Tijuana:

If you recieved approval for a 3 year Residente Temporal, the new law´s visa/card, on Dec. 4th 2012 for 3 years that means it will expire on 04-12-2015. Dec. 4th, 2015, not April 12th 2015.

You could not have been approved to recieve a 3 year Residente Temporal on 12-04-2012 or April 12th 2012 as they were not available at that early date yet.

The one year only Residente Temporal visa/card for first timers with no family ties came into effect on the 15th or so of March 2013 so you could very well have a 3 year RT card if you applied after Nov. 9th 2012 right away and were approved in Dec. 2012.

If you did have a 1 year FM3 and you got a 3 year RT card you cannot renew it as you have 4 years as a temporary resident and need to apply for a Residente Permanente visa this time.

If you had a FM3 for 2 years and renewed in April 2013 for 2 years and have a 2 [ two renewals] on the back of your Residente Temporal card you recieved is a 2 year card [not a 3 year card] that expires this month and you still need to apply for a Residente Permanente as you were a temporary resident for 4 years.

If not your posts don´t make any sense.

You should go back to the same IMN office you recieved the visa from.
