John M. Ackerman: We have an opening up in history...

Mexconnect hasn't offered much about the current state of things in Mexico. The linked English-language article is a reliable source of accurate information about both the present and the future in this country. IMHO, it's a must-read for everyone.

"It’s an attack on the Mexican people by the government"
I'm not sure that the rogue mayor and police force of Iguala represent "the Mexican government" as asserted in the article since the article talks about the presidents, especially Peña Nieto. I'm not sure you can make the direct link between Peña Nieto and the mayor of Iguala, at least you'd have to explain that. However, just as Tlatelolco might be said to be the precursor to the PAN victory in 2000, time will tell about Ayotzinapa. The article talks about the end of hyper-presidentialism in Mexico, I think of this more in terms of Tlatelolco. But certainly, as the article seems to indicate, today Mexico is at a crossroads.

A couple of recent videos with John Ackerman (in English) along the same lines; certainly worth watching.

Does anyone know if this article exists anywhere else on the internet? I have tried to read it several times but that website hates my browser. The text appears to load but once the large photo comes in, it's all messed up. I did a google search and found the beginnings of the article on his blog, but then it links to the same site. Has it been picked up anywhere? Thanks.

(Yes, yes, I need a new computer. I use an ancient Mac with equally old version of Safari. I don't want to talk technology, just want to read the article, thanks.)
