Somebody needs to proof that article. The name of one of the other towns he mentions is San José de Gracia, not 'de Gracias'. The Patamban floral carpets event is held every year on the Roman Catholic Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of October. And Purépecha is a language that pre-dates the arrival of the Spanish in Mexico; saying that it would be unintelligible to Spanish speakers is like saying that English is unintelligible to monolingual Japanese speakers.

The artisans from Patamban also make floral carpets for the opening of each year's Festival Internacional de Música de Morelia. The artisans arrive in Morelia from Patamban and work through an entire night to have the carpets ready for the Saturday opening of the event. This year, the FIMM will be Nov 14-30.
