I just cannot help myself, I must post this New York Times story for all travel readers to enjoy.....or cringe, as I did! Here is a newly wed couple, neither fluent in Spanish (the new wife....NADA!), who decide to drive into Mexico, against all warnings both before, and during the trip, place themselves in multiple, very dangerous situations, and yet, they lived (and avoided kidnapping for ransom) to tell their story! I certainly don't recommend their methods to any other "casual" U.S. traveler's to Mexico! And I think they must have some relationship with the family that departed Mexico, sick children in tow, on a trans-Pacific sailing trip, and had to be rescued by U.S. military ships, copters and personnel! Remember that story? These folks HAVE to be related, at least by stupidity genes! Jeez!! Hope you enjoy the tale! http://www.nytimes.com/...av=inside-nyt-region "Don Miguel"
