Mexican plated car in U.S Dual citizenship

So I'm driving a Guanajuato plated car in the U.S and Ive got dual citizenship, U.S born. I have an American and a Mexican drivers license and insurance in both countries. Are there any laws or legal issues I should be aware of?

If you have a residence in Texas you are expected to switch your license after a certain period of time

No, you have no concerns. You may drive your Mexican plated car anywhere in the USA for up to one year, or until you establish residence in the USA, at which time the state clock will begin ticking. Often, you must then register in your new state within 30 days. However, you cannot register a Mexican plated vehicle in the USA without formally importing it, and that is generally not practical or affordable, as the vehicle may require extensive modifications by specialized shops licensed by DOT.
We have vacationed in the USA with our Jalisco plated car and nobody blinked an eye. There is also no hassle or expense at the border.
