Propane tracking website

Wonder about lakeside propane suppliers?

  • Names & numbers

  • How much they charge

  • What they're charging

  • When do prices go up & by how much

Check out https://primo.herokuapp.com

Please sign up and enter information on your propane deliveries (date; company; price, quantity, etc.).
It will...

  • check the arithmetic

    • do the numbers on the receipt 'work' -- i.e., (total cost) = (price/liter) x (liters) ?

    • if you know the pre- and post-fill gauge readings from your tank, it will check whether or not the liters reported seem 'right'

  • show price trends

  • collect and display contact information on companies and crew

If it proves useful and popular, I'll keep adding more features. I already have some ideas in mind, but please submit yours through the site's "Contact us" form!

Thanks!

bob

Aren't the propane prices determined by the government? Here in Xalapa the 30kg tank is 404.xx pesos by all the suppliers.

Sounds like you're talking about cylinders; I haven't heard of that with stationary tanks.

PEMEX controls the price of propane whether by the kilo or the liter.

Companies & drivers seem to have some "flexibility" -- e.g., some trucks have a per-liter price written or painted on them, and I've had drivers point out they were charging me a little below that price.

Or maybe the data will show it really is all the same.

Either way, it'll be good to know :-)

Actually, the price of liquid propane is controlled by Mexico's Secretary of Energy (http://www.sener.gob.mx/...Default.aspx?id=1530.

Delivery trucks are required to have the price per liter displayed on the truck.
