Hotels on Central Route - South to North

Can't Post | Private Reply
This is modification of another post I made in another thread. Sorry for sort of doubling up - we have one day before we leave now.

We will be going from Chetumal to Nuevo Laredo on the central route. And would like suggestions for hotels along the way for our family.

Our basic plan is to leave Chetumal, stop for the night in Minatitlan (Stay for night at City Express), the next night stop in San Luis Potosi and then cross at Nuevo Laredo the following afternoon or if we don't make it that far, stay for the night in Saltillo.

Does anyone have any recommendations for specific places to stay in and San Luis Potosi and possibly Saltillo or does anyone have input that we should know about? Keep in mind that we are traveling with our five kids.

Thanks everyone her who has helped with their input on the best route to travel! We really appreciate it!

They have a new City Express in San Luis Potosí at the glorietta where Av. Carranza and Himno National meet in front of the Hospital General and the university [UASLP]. This is in the west end of town.

Thanks Alan - Easy to get to? Never been through San Luis Potosi. Always been down the Western route.

Thanks,

Tim

No it is not as easy as the hotels on the Mx 57 coming into SLP from the south [ Zona Hoteleria] but with a Google Map look see you could figure out an easy route on the freeway called Las Puentes. It is 3 blocks from the exit on the freeway marked Zona Universitaria. 1 block further on the lateral and turn right on Dr. Manuel Nara where the huge flag is for 2 more blocks on that street running alongside the universtity.

Re: [clausont] Hotels on Central Route - South to North - Quick Update

Just a quick update: Tonight we are staying at Hoteles Zar in San Luis Potosi. Coming from the South, it was super easy to find. As soon as you come in you head to Centro. Go under the first bridge and you can see the sign in the distance to the right on a frontage rd. Super easy off and it looks like super easy on. Very nice family hotel with a restaurant. Wifi in the rooms. Couldn't ask for better rates.

Note: I am only adding the link so people can check for them selves if they may like the hotel. We are just happy customers (after a 14 hour drive today with five kids....). We are not associated with the hotel at all.

Stayed at a hotel in Villahermosa last night also after leaving Southern Belize yesterday morning. Can't remember the name - and would not likely have posted about it anyway - but it was a place to stay for the night and they did accommodate our family.

Thanks

Thanks for the information but what about their charges.

When I clicked on the web site address she gave above, I input 1 night for 2 people
and that's the cost it gave me:

Submit SENCILLA MATRIMONIAL 1 $550.00 $550.00
Submit KINS SIZE 1 $550.00 $550.00
Submit 2 CAMAS MATRIMONIALES 1 $645.00 $645.00
