VIOLIN AND PIANO RECITAL- To set up a music education fund for study abroad on behalf of Juan Pablo Medeles and Rodrigo Leal Murillo.

Aged 17 and in their 3d year of high school, these two young musicians, Ajijic natives, have the same dream; to pursue their musical studies in Europe.
Juan Pablo and Rodrigo have been friends for many years and side by side have achi
eved much in their chosen musical fields, Juan Pablo violin and Rodrigo piano. Both began their studies in 2007 at CREM (Regional Center of Music Studies) under the direction of now deceased maestro. Víctor Manuel Medeles Romero.
In 2012 they both auditioned and received scholarships from the Viva la Música association and subsequently for another 2 years. They are both founding members of the Orquesta Axixic and are currently taking the necessary steps to go and study music seriously in Europe.
In connection with this objective they need to travel to Europe early in 2015 to audition and do necessary paperwork in various European music schools. From March to May 2015 they will be doing auditions and interviews and if accepted, their will began classes in August or September 2015.
The school that most interests them is the Amsterdam Conservatory in Holland. Since this is a public governmental institute, the tuition is relatively reasonable, including for foreign students. Another advantage is that classes are conducted in English, a language both young men speak already.
Other interesting options are in Germany, Switzerland and Austria all German speaking countries. Amongst the options are the Hans Eisler Hochschule music school in Berlin, the Felix Mendelssohn Hochschule in Leipzing, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, The Vienna Music University and Basel the Zurcher Hochschule for the Arts. Our two musicians have already begun to study German, just in case.
In order to finance the costs of this ambitious project and set up a fund for future music studies our two talented Lakeside musicians are planning a series of recital fundraiser, starting with the one at Saint Andrews Church, doing what they know best, playing music!
Please support the first of the series by attending their first concert to be held Saturday March 15, 2014, 3:30 at the St. Andrews Angilcan Church in Riberas del Pilar.
