Easy Failure-Proof Way to Make Perfect Omeletes

Can't Post | Private Reply
I guess this is Mexican cooking only in the sense that I live and cook in México. Anyway, here’s how I make perfect omelets every time with no frying pan skills required. This method allows you to make several omelets at the same time – feed the whole family without making anyone wait or holding omelets in a warming oven.

I have been using this method while camping for my scrambled eggs for years, I would not call it an omelet.......definition is:

Omelette
In cuisine, an omelette or omelet is a dish made from beaten eggs quickly cooked with butter or oil in a frying pan, sometimes folded around a filling such as cheese, vegetables, meat (often ham), or some combination of the above.

Chico, I have to agree with you. An omelette has to be fried quickly in oil or butter - eggs boiled in a baggy may be very tasty, but they're not an omelette.

Hey Rolly,
With all due respect to the neigh Sayers . . . . I don't care what name you tag it with, this is a pretty ingenious method of cooking . . . . . .. well . . . an omelet. Let's call it a "Rolly / chicois8 camping omelet" . . . just please pass the pepper grinder and lets eat!!!
Thanks for this great cooking tip!
. . . . . . . by the way . . . . . . . is there any residual plastic taste from the Ziploc Bag?
Regards,

No, it doesn't get hot enough.

On first reading, I thought Anónimo said, "Just step away from sous vide eggs."

I'd second that motion.
