this is an amazing new road….traveled it last week & cant wait to go back..
breathtaking scenery..altitudes approaching 9000 feet…over 60 tunnels & marvelous bridges….didnt see any gas stations but there may be in one of the little towns you pass…really thought this new road would be a shorter route from Tepic to central Oklahoma than thru SLP but it was about the same distance..At any rate it was a great change of scenery & a dang good road..approximately 150 miles from Mazatlan Centro to Durango….
the tolls were about 500 p. one-way but they will never recover the cost of this road with tolls….very little traffic..unfortunately very few places to pull over & take pictures & enjoy the views..

If one does a search on YouTube, there are a fair number of videos showing the drive on this highway. From what I have seen, it is definitely on our "bucket list"!

I am wondering if this road will open up Mazatlan as a vacation spot for residents of Monterrey?
