American-Style Breakfast in Colonia Roma (Norte)

For me, Mexican food is the GREATEST food in the universe and chilaquiles makes for the ultimate breakfast. However, there are times when I crave a good old-fashioned American breakfast. Yes, IHOP and the like are available here in The Big City, but Spice Everywhere has that "home-cooked" touch. This is for those who are looking to check out new American-style breakfast option:

Two more thumbs up for Spice Everywhere! We've brunched there two or three times now, and we've loved it every time. You will, too! The Texas Omelet is huge and delicious, the Eggs Benedict are done exactly right. I have seen but not tried the fried chicken and waffles--oh man! They look fabulous. If you're in the big city and want a down-home food fix, this is the place. Three cheers for Spice Everywhere!

I tried the chicken and waffle breakfast, aka 'Uncle Cletus', and it is now my current fave. On that particular visit, the chicken was fried to perfection and they actually use REAL maple syrup. I didn't see the 'Uncle Cletus' mentioned on their website but it's definitely on the menu.

This Sunday, September 29th, the Spice Everywhere breakfast will be held at Hostel 333, located at Colima 333 in Colonia Roma Norte, only a few blocks from La Condesa. I plan to be there at 10am when the doors open to get a good table. Here is a link with a map: http://hostel333.com

As far as I know, they are still at Colima 333, near the corner of Medellín. GREAT brunch!

TT,

I just looked up their website to help me zero in on a Sunday brunch and it looks like they moved. The new address is listed as Colima 333 btw. Medellin y Valledoid.

They are in the same building as Hostel333 which offers breakfast included. Could it be that the same people from Spice are preparing breaky on other days besides Sunday?

Geoff, the address you listed is the same address that is in other posts here. And no, they are only serving brunch on Sundays, 10AM to 4PM. More here:

Just a few questions to a "real American breakfast" . . . . . .when you ask for sausage do you get "hot Dawgs", do they really know what "over easy" is?, do they have "biscuits and good thick sausage gravy"? , fried green tomatoes . . . . or real "home fries"?

. . . . . . .If they do that alone might just be worth a trip to Mexico!!!!!! .. . . . . . but I would probably need a good clean and inexpensive room at a hotel nearby to recuperate or a couple of days . . . . . as well as a church for a close place to confess my gluttony!!! (Smiling)
P.S. I have no earthly idea where these two lines (above) came from . . . . . or how to get rid of them!

Real sausage gravy, not hot dogs. Real home fries. Real fried chicken and waffles, with real maple syrup.

And now they are open during the evenings (from 7 to 11PM) for USA comfort food: chili, chili dogs (real hot dogs), etc.

Oh . . . . . Oh . . . I guess I am going to have to have a sit down with my cardiologist, and make some deals!!! get a pill or two from him and dream of gorging. This calls for some serious planning!@!!! . . . . . . and a decent hotel that I can easily "roll" into after consuming an indecent amount of cholesterol, with a church nearby the hotel, for confessing my sins afterward and asking for a lot of help!!! (smiling)
