I just purchase a three-month policy from the Aguascalientes state health department for 150 pesos. They told me that I could get a policy next year for 600 pesos, which would cover me for the whole year. I asked them if it covers heart attacks and they said no. However, they did say that it covers preventative treatment for heart attacks. It also covers a wide variety of immunizations and even treats minor illnesses. They even told me I could get my teeth cleaned with this policy. For $5 U.S. a month, I think it's well worth it!<p>This is a special campaign that the health department is having in Aguascalientes. They told me it for this year it would end Monday afternoon. However, they did say it would be available in other states next year. You might want to check it out with your local "Centro de Salud" in the state where you live in Mexico.
