Get a US phone line anywhete in the world - $39.95

Can't Post |
Unlimited calls to and FROM the USA using any regular phone (no computer headset) for $39.95 a month. No install and free equipment. All you need is a fast internet connection (in Mexico Telmex offers Infinitum) and a US credit card and address to bill it to.

If you have the internet line and want a 30-day no risk trial email cabobrett@hotmail.com and you'll get a referal giving you an additional free month!

I agree to that. But I have questions about 800 service I want to ask them about.

It would be easier for me to e-mail me than have to go to this site every time since you won't accept private replies. southwesternschool@juno.com

But, I'll take your replies any way I can get them.

Nowhere near the same thing. That requires a computer, you make calls throgh a headset (as opposed to any phone or cordless), and it doens't alow incoming calls. Plus it's per minute not unlimited.

Can't speak for the dot.com millionaires. Computer, headset, got all that - an incoming number? the website claims to offer for $9.95 a month

@1.5cents a minute - I'd have to talk over 1,333.333 minutes a month to justify the unlimited talk. - thats 44.44 minutes every day, for 30 days. Yikes! You would have to have gabby teenagers for that.

Hi Gary - if you want to go the budget route (no Canadian jokes please) you'll have to keep your computer on all the time, use a headset instead of the cordless phone of your choice, etc. then that service might be perfect for you. PC-to-PHONE has been around for quite sometime (I used to have it) and isn't really in the same league, but for those who can't afford anything else it will allow basic VoIP. :)

Please feel free to start your own thread heralding the features of the service of your choice, but please stop interupting mine Thanks.

I am just asking you to check out the website! You are obviously wrong.

Iconnecthere.com offers broadband, non-broadband, pay per minute, package plans, gateways (the magic box you are talking about) and complete USB connect broadband phones. All at lower prices than VOIP - which offers broadband only, gateways only, and a fixed monthly account.

I received a call from someone in Chapala a couple of weeks ago who was using iconnecthere.com and the call was fine. I know it works fine from Mexico.

Let the truth set you free!

Hi again Gary. I checked the web site - have you?

http://www.iconnecthere.com/nonmembers/accessories/ip_phones.asp
Approximate price: $179.00
Stand-alone telephone adapter

We provide the exact same equipment for free.

Oh and after you buy it from THEM you have to go through a lot of configuration: http://corp.deltathree.com/...TAConfiguration.html
We ship it ready to plug in.

As I said before - it was a pretty good service a few years ago. Having used both I can tell you it's more expensive, doesn't offer as many features, and is a lot harder to setup, but if you prefer it go for it!

Now, now brett - you tell a lie -then I have to respond, etc. etc.

Yes, that standalone usb broadband phone is a pretty slick unit - but I have already explained that I am referring to the GATEWAY device at inconnecthere.com, for $49.95 - while not free: at $8.95 a month versus $39.95 a month, still a bargain.

How many months of $39.95 do you have to buy - you must have to sell at least six for them to pay you a commission/bonus???

Appreciate the effort - but at this point this thread is either becoming (or always was) spam or stupidity.

Therefore, as they say in Baha- 'sayonara, toots'

Re: [Gary sculptari] Because it's NOT "the same thing" :)

Hi Gary.

No, it's not "slick" because you need to have a computer to use it and leave it on all the time. It will also only work in Windows 200 or XP and won't work on a home network:

"This service is available for dial-up users with Windows 2000 or XP (without NAT)"

Even THEY agree:

http://www.iconnecthere.com/...sories/ip_phones.asp

"While these accessories are more expensive, the advantages are tremendous: no computer is necessary, superior sound and regular telephone experience."

The difference? THEY make you buy the Cisco ATA186 for $200... and we give it to you for free.

No, there is no contract or minimum so you can cancel any time, and you get a 30-day no questions asked satisfaction guarantee.

No, there is no "commission or bonus" but when you refer someone new both parties get a free month.

Incidentally - the $39.95 is the "all u can eat" unlimited plan. I forget to mention that there is another option - 500 minutes a month for $19.95 which is about $.04 per minute. Considering we include the equipment ($200), a free months service, and offer features no one else has it's really the best deal on the market.

What we don't have is a service for old fasioned dial-up internet users. If you're still using dial-up you're stuck with iconnecthere.com or net2phone.com.

Oh and by the way it's spelled "Baja" not "Baha" and *we* never, EVER, say "sayonara, toots".

Hi Gary.

"""No, it's not "slick" because you need to have a computer to use it and leave it on all the time. "" I wasn't going to reply, but I thought it was fair that I should admit you are right on that point. You do need a computer to use the GATEWAY, it doesn't have to run XP, but something more powerful than a 386 running win95 is probably advised, just a guess. With inconnecthere.com you can work your way up to find what works for you, starting with a dialup modem, just using outcalls for long distance. My mind skipped this computer requirement, but I think it is a fundamental flaw in your marketing plan. Do you really think people are going to get broadband service, and I assume modem, into their homes/businesses and NOT use a computer? They can still send all their emails, highspeed downloads, online games/video, etc. - and can leave the computer on without extra charge. So for a $49 gateway (but the $99 unit looks more flexible) you can use the computer instead of the $200 standalone unit. By the way are you really giving away this Cisco ATA 186, you give the impression that you plug in a phone - any phone? cellular? cordless? rotary dial? Good luck to your commercial endeavors, its always good to see someone leading high tech businesses into Mexico. Thank you for coming clean that you actually work for this company - the 'send a friend' program is a good idea.

Hi Gary.

No, I don't work for them and it's not a "commercial endeavor". I'm just an ethusiastic user. I say "us" or "we" for conversations sake. When someone signs up we both get a free month of service and I get the good feeling I helped someone else.

Please note that the page YOU posted specifically says "...only customers with Windows 2000 / XP or the ATA can receive phone calls." In my oppinion it's a poor solution.

http://www.iconnecthere.com/...services/receive.asp

YES - they (we?) provide the Cisco ATA186 for free. Pretty amazing huh?

YES - you can plug any normal phone including cordless into the Cisco... not cellular (it doesn't plug) and probably not a rotary.

Your posts started as a mean spirited attempt to discredit and harass me but you seem to have come around. If you have more questions feel free to ask. Are there cheaper ways to make long distance calls? Maybe. But not using a normal telephone with call quality indistinguishable from a regular POTS line.

While broadband opens a world of additonal possibilities I think people not of the "computer generation" (Pedro?) might be comforted that they don't even need a PC to make a phone call.

Bret,

Many have read this entire post and well as we applaud your attempt, please stop blowing smoke up our %$#.
You are not doing this out of the kindness of your heart and you do get something for your troubles which translates into commission regardless of how you are paid it or slice it. There are many people in the US doing this one for a number of telecommunication services.

You also offend us by your assumption that we the majority and or minority are brainless boobs that either haven’t a computer or know how. This was a mistake on your part and down right insulting as you continue against logical debate. How do you think we read this post, through the handset of our basic unlimited use US phone line anywhete in the world -$39.95???
Or as you called us “people not of the "computer generation" Logic would tell me that considering we needed to be on the computer and online to read your post would suggest that Mr. Gary sculptari's advice or option is more sound for anyone that has read this post. Or is it now assumed that we have no clue how we got here.

As a compare shopper, simply you loose. I’m certain that everyone wishes you the best of luck in your selling effort of the service. However, better to start out telling the truth and don’t assume we’re idiots. I'm sure that wasn't your intention but it is what you accomplished doing.
Good luck to you and for our sake lets stop this post here.

Mexicali
By the way, where is "anywhete" I don't know this location?

For the Dr. about your question of cable or dsl cost it vary by location and servcie provider but figure between 45-85 a month in some places. That would be a good starting point to gauge things. For the service that is being suggested here by Brett, there are numerous Mexican companies in Mexico that provide the same service and it is done via fiber optic with micro wave to micro wave bridge to cross the border such as "Telecom1.net"
Well good luck to all, the end!!!!!!

Hi "Mexlog".

I am unaware of any other company that provides VoIP using a normal telephone for less money. I checked the link you provided and they seem to be a web hosting firm (if they provide VoIP I couldn't find the link).

Several participants here, including the site owner, have already checked this out and signed up. I'm not to proud to change to a better deal so if you know of something better - or even something close in price and features - please do tell. Maybe we can all switch? :)

Hey Brett-

I'm moving to Cancun in Feb or March 03. I'm interested in your phone service. I'm getting a gateway laptop with 256 ram, 2.0 ghz, and will be getting Telmex at the 128kbps speed(hopefully)...Will I be able to use your phone service while uploading? Does it use ICQ or a silimar service?

thanks in advance

No - you don't need a computer (just the internet line) and it has nothing to do with any chat program. Send me your address and I'll email you a link and coupon.

Brett,

I checked with the wireless carrier here to see what kind of bandwidth (up and down) was available. I am told around 512 both ways. However when I mentioned why I was interested they said they make every effort to block VOIP. They said it robs too much bandwidth and if it were allowed to proliferate it would downgrade their service too much. They said it might work at first, but then if they find a way to block it they will. They went on to say they were looking into providing a similar service, and of course would like to block competition.

What do you know about this? I'd hate to get it, only to find out a month or two down the road it quits working.

Real sweehearts aren't they? That's why I prefer Telmex infinitum. But since the gear is free anyway just go with whomever you like for now and change providers if and when you need to.
