Dentist in PV

Well I am looking for my 4th dentist and this time I need a good, trustworthy one asap. Doctor Adan Michel, and Octavio .... can't remember his last name and now the guys at Plaza Marina have all not worked out well.
I was told my 3 year old filling Dr. Michel did was too large and had some decay, (turned out it didn't) one bite and I might crack the filling and lose the molar. Well I bit all right, paid $600 USD for a new crown and I have been in horrible pain for a month. I am convinced this was a big upsell after checking with my dentist NOB who has my X-rays. So now I will require a root canal to have any hope of getting my life back (seriously), not sleeping do to the pain is making me a super crank. Looking for a referral for someone you have had personal experience with. btw anyone know what the requirements are to become a dentist in Mexico?

Proof that you failed the test to be a veterinarian.

5 years of full-time university study dedicated to dentistry, (at a certified dental school), plus one year of Servicio Seguridad as practical dental service to the public. Just like any profession, Mexico has some excellent ones, some very good ones, a bunch of mediocre ones, some less talented folks, and a few incompetents.

Good luck finding a really good one, this time around.

Good grief Steve! Is there anything you don't have an answer to? Please look up the meaning of sarcasm and see how that fits the original question.

We have used "Dr. Martin" (that's his first name) for many years.

He is located on Basillo Badillo #311, it is called "Just Smiles".
Dr. Martin also teacher dentistry at the university in GDL. My husband has had 4 implants (3 of which required surgery) and has never had a problem. Also, when my husband gets his teeth cleaned in the U.S. several dentists have told him "whoever did his implants did a great job".

I have been using Dr Fernando Peñalva at http://www.puertovallartadentist.com/index.php?lang=en
for about 30 years, far better than any dentist I have used in the USA!

If you need a root canal, you´ll ´probably need an endontist.

I went to Dr. Peñalva once too and he was very good. Dr. Adan Michel is my dentist and when I had implant surgery last summer they brought in a surgeon from Guadalajara. Both my dentist and my periodontist in Canada think the work is great.

Sorry for your bad experience, but, truthfully, yours is the only complaint I have ever heard about either Plaza Marina Dental or Dr. Adan Michel. I´m sure Just Smiles is also good and chances are you´ll be recommended to a specialist anyway.

Good luck.
