Cats?

Are there any cat-adoption places in or around the Chapala area? How about vets? Obviously, we could head into GDL, but I wasn't sure if there were any recommendations for local vets.

The cat pet shelter on the Carretera in Riberas has many wonderful kittens etc. waiting for homes and there is a vet next door, plus Dr. Pepe is a great vet about 2 blocks E of that next to the big concrete warehouse, all are on the lake side of the road.

Yes, there are cat (and dog) adoption places and there is a good choice of vets. Anita has a large number of cats as does The Animal Shelter. The Animal Shelter has a vet next door. You will easily find a vet to match your personal preference but here's a few: Memo (in the village), Pepe (Riberas), Ladron (Riberas). Dog and cat food is available at most of the vets, at a couple of pet stores and at WalMart.
