I could find nothing at the link you listed (the web site for the Film Festival) that said the festival is postponed, nor do I see anything in any of the local newspapers. Please provide more details, as right now I see no evidence the festival will be postponed.

Please verity your source. Here in Michoacan, the only news is that the Festival is ON.

Well it seems that originally the festival was to be held in October. The dates posted on the above webpage state it will be from November 3 to November 11.
The link is alive and well.

When you say originally it was to be held in October, I don't know your source. When I first started checking in early August, the dates were in November, just as they are now. So the scheduling had nothing to do with the current demonstrations by teachers and students. .

We have several important film festivals in Michoacan and to the best of my knowledge, none have been postponed for your alleged reasons. However, one Film Festival has changed dates and venues and you might be thinking of that.
Morbido, International Film Festival of Fantasy and of Horror
The fifth edition of the Morbido Festival will be held from November 15 to 18, 2012, in Patzcuaro, Michoacan.
Morbido originated five years ago in Tlapujahua, during Dia day Muertos. The dates and venue have changed to the magical town of Patzcuaro.
The event will address how Vampires and Dracula, commemorating the centenary of the death of Bram Stoker.
