The only place I could find one like you describe is at Liverpool in Guadalajara. They also had a meat thermometer.

You're in luck if you hurry. There was a dandy one at Super Lake today.

Every time someone says there is an oven thermometer at Superlake, I go and none is to be found.

Check SL again. If they don't have one, go to Liverpool.

You helped the person who was the fastest to get to SL.

John, most people don't want to drive to Guad for an oven thermometer.

The "miscellany" shop near Bancomer across from the plaza in Ajijic is a likely place to find one. They seem to have every kitchen gadget.

Can you be a bit more specific. I have walked the area twice and have failed to find anything that resembles a kitchen gadget store. When was the last time you were there? Thanks,

Larry

Stand on the corner in front of Bancomer. Face east (toward Templo San Andrés), with the Ajijic plaza on your left. Walk forward less than half a block. The store you are looking for is on your right. It's not a kitchen gadget store, they sell a little bit of everything--more like a 99 cent store.

As you look in the doorway of said store, you will see shelves crowded with everything under the sun, from games to candles to clocks. A trip through there is an adventure. The kitchen gadgets are further in the store. As well described above, it's on the same side of the street as Bancomer. Next door is more or less a similar store selling mostly cosmetics. I would say "you can't miss it" but ...............
I've been in there no more than a week ago, buying candles.

Hey, I found it and guess what, you were absolutely right.....the place is full of kitchen goodies plus a lot of other stuff. I owe you and Esperanza a debt of gratitude but you also cost me $2000 + in pesos this morning because I couldn't say NO to everything I saw. They even have a miniature Cuisinart type, chopper I might look at seriously next month. Thanks ladies,

Larry
