Art and Stuff in Mexico City

Hey there,
I like to make words and images and musics, and I am planning to travel to Mexico City for to learn about how these things are done there. I have no friends in that place, and I could use a bit of help. I've been researching for a few months now, but I haven't been able to find anything specific to my purposes. I'm a looking for to find some folks to talk to about making things, and for to search out and sense some weird creative experiments. I know that it is a big city with lots of culture and ideas and stuff - does anybody have any sort of notion about where I can find information about these things? Any kind words would be greatly appreciated.
