Hi Apucko: In Saltillo, we like the Hampton Inn Zona Aeropuerto (Airport Area), or failing that, the adjoining Holiday Inn Express Zona Aeropuerto (they share the same parking lot) They are right on Highway 40, at the north end of Saltillo, on the right side of the Highway if you are going south. You can see a map if you go to either of these hotel sites. Easy to find. If you´re on Highway 40, going south, get into the lateral lanes as soon as possible (coming from 57) so you can turn in directly (right turn). It´s a bit of a pain if you go past them as there is an overpass which you need to cross before you can turn around. If you decide to stay there, you can even phone them for more precise directions so as to be sure not to miss them. They all speak excellent English as most of their clientele are business people, many of whom fly in from the US and Canada for meetings with local Mexican executives at the various plants in the area. (It´s right near the Airport).

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn app. 10 times I guess. They have a good breakfast, starting at 6:00 am and often Manager´s snacks between 6:00 and 8:00 pm which can often serve as dinner if you´re not that hungry (it includes beer and pop). Also, there is a restaurant next door, which is pretty good, which offers room service to either hotel. Holiday Inn Express is, I¨m sure, just as good, but it wasn´t built when we first discovered the Hampton Inn so we feel at home there more, but I´m sure you would be equally satisfied with HI (if you collect points for example). There is ample parking, and, while not technically gated, there is a gate you have to drive through and lots of security patrolling around.

Hope this helps.
