Just looking for some quick tips; my wife and I will be in Guadalajara for business meetings this fall and were considering a drive to San Miguel de Allende and back (basically, flying into Guadalajara, renting a car, driving to San Miguel de Allende for a few days to stay with family, and then driving back for our meetings). I've traveled through difficult areas before (specifically rural West Africa), but I've never been to Mexico at all. What's the risk and complexity profile of taking the 15D and highway 110 for a couple of Americans with at best workmanlike Spanish language skills?
