gringo murder in Chapala,

http://www.informador.com.mx/...pareja-asesinada.htm

A German man and his Mexican wife have been murdered in their home. This happened on the 20th of July. Surprised it isnt being discussed here. Is it not worthy of discussion? Is it possible that I can discover this from another country and locals don't know about it???

According to sources at lake chapala yahoo groups, a local cop has been implicated. Anyone else know anything?

Hopefully this thread will not get closed too quickly. People have a right to know what is happening in Chapala.

thanks Johanson but where is 'all over the place'?

I naively thought that since MexConnect is one of the most visible Mexican expat forums. its members would be sharing this info. Why this murder not showing up here is very strange to me. Guess I was way too gullible, thinking anything that pertinent to expats in Chapala would be found on MexConnect Chapala Region forum.

Just makes me wonder what else is not showing up.

Oops, time to shoot the messenger.

one of the problems is that lakesidecrimetracker.com websight is having server problems. it should be up & running this week. i am sure he will include this in the updates. if anyone wants to contact site, comments questions reports: info@lakesidecrimetracker.com, yes this board has been slow lately. i agree w/mensamia, it should have been discussed. another home invasion robbery murder, few people seem concerned. go figure.

What concerns me as much as the double murder is the title of this thread. Where in the world did mensamia get the idea that a "local cop" is implicated in the murder? Nothing in the article in El Informador mentions that, nor have I seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Maybe a moderator could fix this situation by changing the title of the thread.

I think Mensamia is confusing two separate events. A Chapala policeman has been cited for a shooting death in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos which occurred earlier this month.

The title should be changed and Mensamia shoud refrain from spreading rumors. There is no report that the Chapala police was involved in this crime, actually there is no further information right now. Nothing to discuss sorry Mensamia .

Here is the message I received by email concerning the cop involvement. I was trying to ascertain if indeed a cop has been charged. Someone should know that. Below is the message.

It appears one of those charged in the murder is a Chapala cop.

i suggest strongly that you learn how to read espanol before making a wrong op like above and then using something like this as proof, which it ain't. people don't need to know rumours and gossip and totally wrong info like you have posted.
in any event, the murder you cite is old news. we had a fresh one sunday, august 12 right on maderos across from the 711,just south of the chicken bbq and car parts places.
there. is that what ya wanna see on here about crime or do you want more details? should i take pics, especially fer you next time and put them on this forum so's ya kin stop whining?

Information on this event can be seen here :

thanks for asking Vichil. I got the information in the body of the text of the email I received. Sorry if not accurate. I cut and pasted the exact email and right in the middle it mentions the cop.

I have no idea who sent me the email but perhaps I got it from joining that group. I apologize if it is misinformation. But the gringo and his wife are still dead. That is not misinformation.

As for the person that thinks I am preoccupied with the murder rate in Chapala... guess you are right. It is one of the factors I use in making lifestyle decisions. Chapala was a place I considered moving to and I still have friends there.

whether its old news or not, it should be discussed here. also never cut & paste something you get from a yahoo group. make sure the link is readable. ok more older people get killed. targets, end of case.not the same as a street dispute.
