Can I just let my FM2 expire?

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi, I have had an FM2 for a while now and this coming year I would be eligible for "inmigrado". However, I have decided that I will not be staying in Mexico to live. I am currently out of Mexico traveling abroad and the FM2 will expire in the meantime.

Can I just let it expire and that is the end of it or do I HAVE TO do some sort of paperwork to cancel it, etc?

I would rather it just expire so I don't have to return and be done with it.

Thanks for any input.

Yes, as Rich said. If you plan to continue visiting México from time to time, it would be good to officially cancel your visa by turning in the card to the IMN next time you cross the border..
