México vs. Brasil for Olympic Fútbol Gold!

Mexico's fútbol (soccer) team will compete for a gold medal for the first time ever on Saturday after beating Japan 3 to 1 today in the semifinal match. Today was the first time México had reached the semi-finals since the 1968 México City games. Brasil will undoubtedly be favored, but no matter what happens on Saturday morning, it's been a great tournament for México and everyone I talk to is very excited.

This is big fun. The match Saturday begins at 9am Central Time, I think.

Not to be outdone by the Mexican men, but the USA Women will play Japan for the gold Thurday, August 9 at 1:45. If anyone watched the USA/Canada game, this final will be exciting.

Who spells Brazil with an "s"? (Honestly, the more Spanish I learn, the more English I lose. I think it's an "s" in Portuguese though, so I'm gonna say it was intentional.)

I saw the tail end of the women's USA/Canada match. WOW!!!

As far as the men's final on Saturday, our gardener has informed us not to expect him on Saturday morning. "No one will be working." Heh. Imagine if they win!?!!??!!!
