Fishing Equipment Store in Cancun

Does anyone know of a good bait and tackle shop in Cancun? My wife and I want to try surf fishing - need some rods and reels, etc. I've been Googling for hours but can't find a retail store, only charters, tours, etc. Many thanks.

There are lots of fishing store in Cancun and using Google will not help much. One of the biggest I have sen is on Chichen Nitza and Bonampak, a big boat yard on the West side, with the upstairs full of gear, expensive though and the manager speaks English. If you drive down Lopez Portillo towards Punta Sam, you will find lots of Boat stores that sell fishing equipment, also on Tankah there are a few boat stores that have stuff as well. It is hard to find stuff on your own here but these forums really help out a lot. Good luck!
