A few points - I'm in Mérida, but had a similar situation (rejection) of application. In this case, though, we were switching to an inmigrante (FM-2) from noinmigrante (FM-3). Like the original poster, the rejection letter said that we needed to submit a letter of request. I had done that, and pointed it out to the person handing our case -- she made a slight change to the already-submitted letter, and that was that (the wording on our letter was almost exactly what the original poster's letter had --. Also, because this was considered a NEW application, we also needed to submit a copy of our (apostilled) marriage certificate (had already done this back in 1997, for the first FM-3 application, but presumably a new file is put together for the new application). The original poster might want to make sure that this was not what was being asked for regarding his wife's documentation. Finally, we had to submit a copy of our fideicomiso to support our financial documentation (again, this had been included with the orignal FM-3 application in 1997, but...). None of this may be relevant to the original poster's migration issues, but might help someone else in the future. Good luck to the original poster! Having multiple trips to immigration, on top of the shock of a robbery, and the ''tramites'' involved with that sounds like a real nightmare!
