Major Media Blackout on Mexico Demonstrations

Someone sent me a youtube link the other day to sites showing the enormous mega-marches all over Mexico that have been happening since before the national elections and which now are continuing in protest of the election results. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ialrcFHazSo&feature=player_embedded. If it's been removed, you can search youtube for videos about the "Yo Soy 132" campaign. There's been virtually nothing on the mainstream media in Mexico or elsewhere, from what I've heard, about any of this.

One of the main things that #yosoy132 is protesting is the involvement of Televisa and other media corp's in the election. They are claiming that Televisa pushed EPN over other candidates. So, I'm not surprised that Televisa's outlets do not give much coverage to the marches. Local news however has been carrying lots of articles, pictures and videos of marches all over the country including here in Merida.

I would not call it a blackout, merely that the organizations involved are not pushing coverage of it.

Do you know that it wasn't?

Here's a link to one of several articles (in Spanish and English) in the Los Angeles Times.
