Car Permit Attached to the Car's VIN, Cars License or the Travelers' License or . . . . . . . None o

It just hit me as I am renewing my existing car license and registration from another state to Texas state license and registration.

I have kept my same Mexican Permit sticker on the window. I have changed my car plates, and registration. I have also kept the original states plates and I have a copy of the former states registration. My question is, what to do about my car permit on the window? (Yeah, I know. . . . . . . fine time to think about it! HA)

Has anyone had such an experience as this in the past, if so, what was the correct thing to do? I do not really wish for my bank account to be hit with another permit charge. What do you think? Do I quietly drive back to my state of Queretaro and go to the local Aduana office and make changes or change the information at the border Aduana Permit Office when I cross? Or is there any necessity in changing it at all? I would think some modification would be necessary, but since everything seems to go off the VIN, I am thinking it may only be necessary to provide additional information on my new Texas registration & license, but I really don’t know. Anyone experienced in this kind of thing?

Thanks

I think it's primarily VIN, I came in on TX plates on a car I had just bought, they turned out to be "unregistered" and so I replaced them and that was 5 years ago, still running on the original sticker, no problems.

Robert, You do not have a problem. You do not need to do anything.

As Rolly said you don't have to do anything.
I went from Cali plates to SD on my truck/camper. When I turned my 10 year sticker in they never questioned my plates only the VIN.

As you remember I did have that small problem with my cargo trailer since the VIN plate was missing. They used the title and plates when they canceled that.
