Bringing Car into Mexico

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi All
I would like to import a 2008 truck into Mexico, to keep in Mexico permanently. I am hearing that there are restrictions depending on the age. Does anyone have any REAL experience with this?

Sincerely, Tony

Since no one who has real experience with permanently importing a 4 year old vehicle into Mexico is answering your request, (since the rules for permanent imports only allow 8, 9, 10 or more than 30 years old), you could read Yucalandia's web article on this or Rolly Brooks article for current rules, regulations, and how you could get a Temporary Import Permit.

Yucalandia's folks imported 2 US vehicles: see Importing and Driving a Car in Mexico http://yucalandia.wordpress.com/...ing-a-car-in-mexico/
or
Rolly Brook at: http://rollybrook.com/car-in-M%C3%A9xico.htm
Both sites have good up to date information, (though I think Rolly may not have personally imported cars?).

You can also search past threads on your question here in Mexconnect forums, but old threads do not contain up to date information, especially with the recent changes.
