We very fortunately missed this incident by about 2 hours.
We mistakenly went to T2 to check in for our flight, but we were told that it was leaving from T1. So we took the Air Train, but were required to show a boarding pass or printed e-ticket confirmation. Fortunately, we had the latter.

By the look of things in T2, (we didn't go to the food court), I never would have imagined what had taken place a couple of hours before.

We came back from Europe last Monday in the evening and we noticed an unually high number of Federales in the terminals. They were in a line and were watching people coming out. I thought that they were expecting someone important or were looking for criminals, I wonder what was going on.

They said the same thing the day after the massacre at the Plaza of Three Cultures associated with the 1968 Olympics. By morning, the government had completely cleaned up the crime scene to minimize international horror. An accurate report about the number murdered by the troops could not be obtained. Image is everything after all....

It turns out that the shooting occurred the day after we were there. We were there briefly on Sunday. The shootings happened Monday.
