2 things: #1) where in baltimore do you live? i assume there are really nice areas. if so, the ghetto stuff would not be in your world. but i was somehow under the impression baltimore was like washington DC, a fallen city. (except for capital hill). #2) you want "a re birth of our life from the 60s"? & you think that is in ajijic? you are delusional. ask anyone who is over 80 yrs old. this mexico vs. US is absurd. it is the area in general you choose to live. mexico has some lovely places, untouched by cartels, fast food, & nafta. unfortunately in ajijic, the only decent places are residential gated. they are attractive, but not always safe. there are some nice streets in town, but they are surrounded by ugly streets. as for only one murder? not true. there was one the year before in riberis. also multiple home invasions, w/ attempted murder & violence, car jacking, muggings, so many break-ins as well. read the forums, all the talk about electric fences killer dogs, buying guns. i dont do any of that, but read the discussions. im not sure what you mean by rebirth of the 60s, but your totally "off". its a cheap shot. this place is 1000% different than 50 yrs ago. its an extension of guadalajara, its developments, strip malls & inner city life. very little tradition. listen to the papayalover. the media has "under" played this, not exaggerated. there is one good report in the new yorker magazine. as for things getting better, well they have w/the cartels. the killings have stopped, as the municipal has made an agreement. but theres little tradition or architecture, more inner city sleeze. im not getting this 60s thing.

in addition: i have reread your posts. you were here 20 years ago? been back? did you say you were also here recently? if you were, you do not have the same sensitivities that papayalover has. so there is no argument. right? people were trying to help you, IF its been 20yrs. & how do you make an opinion if you were not here?

How does one know when it's time to shut down a Post? When it starts to look like this one!
