I'll comment on this, and risk getting stones thrown at me. I'm not trying to be mean-spirited, I don't hate animals, just stating my opinion. Most Mexicans remember that their dog is their dog. Not their child, not their baby, but their DOG. The great majority of Mexicans I know would never dream of flying and dragging along their pets, either in the cabin or down below. Their dog will be waiting at their house gate, tail wagging, when they get home. The housekeeper, other family members or a neighbor will make sure Pepe has water and food, and a daily walk while they're away (in an ideal world). Regarding bringing animals into an aircraft cabin, why is it that many pet owners never consider or care that an estimated 10% of the population is allergic to animals? Pookie may get off the plane, but his dander or other allergens remain in the cabin waiting for the next flight.
