México, DF.- La Comisión Permanente aprobó la creación de una comisión plural de legisladores que acudirá ante el secretario de Gobernación, Alejandro Poiré, a pedir informes del porqué no se ha promulgado el reglamento de la ley de migración que obliga a México a proteger y a respetar los derechos de los migrantes que cruzan el territorio nacional.

El acuerdo fue aprobado luego de considerar que desde noviembre pasado venció el plazo que tenía el Gobierno federal para promulgar las nuevas reglas bajo las cuales debe actuar el Instituto Nacional de Migración en la nueva ley que fue aprobada por el Congreso de la Unión.

Well it looks like the pressure worked. The SEBGOB published the "anteprojecto" for the reglamento today. (Its not the reglamento nor even a draft but it is some movement)

This will be open to public comment until June 29th .

The webpage references a pdf document of Mexico’s 2011 Immigration statistics, which has more interesting things for us, than the main page. e.g. Merida logged about 47,500 entries by foreigners in 2011 (Compared to 4.7 million entering Cancun):
