Just back from a 2 week trip and thought we should let everyone know about a pretty nice hotel for the money about 6-7 blocks from the zocalo. It is called Hotel del Paseo on 5 Poniente......older but very clean, with TV, good wi-fi connection, secure parking.....no restaurant but plenty around & only 1/2 block to an Oxxo for coffee early in the morning. We paid $380 mx a night for a room with 2 double beds, lots of hot water.
We would stay there again.....charming courtyard.
