Ken Kesey in Mexico

He died in 2001. He lived some time in Eastern Pacific Mexico, including Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo. He was on the run for a third marijuana conviction which would mean five months of jail time. Here is an interesting travel article from 2008 from a travel writer who retraces his steps:

He was there for months like many vacationers .... except Mexico was a bit different then.

I met "them" (the pranksters) in the Santa Cruz mountains in the late '60''s ... and later at the farm south of Eugene Oregon.

Great writer and movie but unlike much of the '60-'70's ... the spiritual aspect has been forgotten lately
